La Mata has the longest beach in the Costa Blanca, and for this reason, it has over twenty accesses through the palm trees, to the waterfront and beaches. In addition to its fine and golden sand, an attractive environment, within which the Laguna de La Mata Nature Reserve stands out, (salt Lakes). The Reserve has a tourist information center offering interesting routes to get to know the saltmarshes, and wildlife that can be seen.

Los Leandros

One of the newest, and established developments in the area.(approx.3 Years old) Consisting of 4 Phases all with their individual resident private swimming pools. You have the choice of; apartments, bungalows, townhouses, and villas. All the properties are finished to a very high standard. This development is complimented with "high spec" and "individual quality" throughout. The beach of La Mata is only a stones throw away. Most of the properties have sea views of sorts. This is an ideal area with; people, shops and "life", all year round. (This area is set on a hill looking out over the Mediterranean Sea) For those who need wheelchair mobility, be advised there are a number of small hills.

La Mata

Consists of the area north of Torrevieja including the village of Torrelamata. There is old and new but prominently and always there are the beaches.

There are local cafes and bars, all they way up to "Michelin" Quality luxuriose restaurants

Torre La Mata

The oldest, and smallest areas of La Mata. Currently undergoing a major refurbishment, new apartments and luxury property is available here. Ther area can be quiet during the winter season, but summer the area is packed with tourists!

There are beautiful walkways, and sand dunes to explore. Ideal area for the elderly, set on level ground, many facilities for those with walking disabilities.

Beaches

With over 2,250 meters (2.25km) (Roughly 1 mile) Of Luxury, clean sand, water, and spectacular settings. This area is spectacular all year. From the expected summer temperatures, through to the winter "chill", the beach and area gives you the full spectrum of Mother Natures power. The highlight being blue skys, with a relaxed, "feel good" factor 95% of the year. (When it rains.....it rains...even more fun and a nice break for those who live in the area all year round) Christmas and New Year are also a lively time, many people taking thier festive walks along the beach. As I said La Mata is the place no matter what time of the year you visit.
